In 2020 the third edition of the Design Challenge organised in Kosovo by KosLift and the IPKO Foundation had to be transformed – it had to be held digitally in order to give students the opportunity to participate in it, while staying safe in the specific sanitary situation. Their goal was to provide a high quality training for all 9 competing teams and to keep their engagement high. They have contacted us to make that digital transformation happen. Our previous experience has proven that it is not enough to simply transfer in the digital the design for a training that was meant to happen in a physical presence – the results are not going to be as good as expected. So we did not only prepare a toolkit with all of the necessary templates and walkthroughs and trained the mentors of KosLift on the new ways of working; we redesigned in a co-creative manner the flow of the Design Challenge.

Redesign KosLift 2020 Design Challenge for a digital environment. In the period of 8 weeks 20 startup teams composed of students work on real-life design challenges supported by facilitators. The challenges are provided by corporations who give monetary prizes and mentorship to the 4 best teams.
